My Father, Your Father; My God Your God!

Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away." Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned and said to him in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher). Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord"-and that he had said these things to her. John 20:15-18 (ESV).

Heavenly Father, what Mary Magdalene does, waking up while it is still dark and making her way to the tomb, speaks volume of her deep love for you and her earnest desire to see you, even if it is just seeing your physical body. To see her stooped and wept, she must have been feeling a great sense of loss. Truly this grieved her immensely. Father I see you are teaching me to know whom I have believed and what I am entrusted with, knowing that I am accepted, forgiven, loved, and empowered. Dear Father, like Mary, help me to be focused, joyful, and courageous, as I desire to know Christ and make Him known so that many will say like Mary 'I have seen the Lord! '. In Jesus' precious name I pray.
